As in most schools, the abilities of our
students vary greatly. At Ford we are cognizant of our responsibility to develop the
talents of each student as fully as possible. We have, in conjunction with St. John's
University and St. Francis College, a program that allows students, who are qualified and
able, to earn as many as thirty college credits which will be accepted by colleges and
universities throughout the nation. We also have varying levels of course work - honors,
regents, and remediation. Programs such as peer counseling and tutoring allow students who
are having difficulty with a particular course the opportunity of one-on-one assistance.
Each student is assigned a guidance counselor who monitors his or her progress. Faculty
members are also readily available to assist individuals seeking instruction.
