FAIR Application Process

In order for families to apply for financial aid online, they will need the following:

1. School Code = 192
2. Password = bfchs192
3. A valid email address
4. A credit card to complete payment (Visa or Mastercard)
5. A complete copy of the 2010 federal Income Tax Return with all schedules and W-2's
6. Go to www.fairapp.com
7. Click on "Parent Login"
8. Create a user account using their email address
9. Create a their own password
10. Begin the application process

Once a family has completed the application process they will receive a confirmation page that verifies FAIR has received their application as well as an email reconfirming receipt (families submitting paper applications will receive a postcard confirming receipt of their application). The confirmation page and the email will also remind them to submit their tax return to FAIR as soon as possible.

Note: If FAIR does not received your tax return within 14 days after submitting your application online, FAIR will send a letter reminding you to  send in your tax return in order to fully complete a review of your application.

The Brother Michel Bettigole Financial Aid Program

Brother Michel Bettigole is a graduate of St. Francis Prep High School and Hunter College.  He entered the Franciscan order in 1961 and professed his vows in 1964. Before teaching at Bishop Ford and serving as the Chair of the Social Studies Department (1966-1974), brother taught at St Anthony of Padua and Our Lady of Angels.  In 1969, he received his MA in political science from Hunter. From 1974 -79, Brother served as Academic Dean of St. Francis Prep and in 1980, he served for one year as Assistant Principal at St. Anthony High School.  In September of 1980, he returned to Bishop Ford, where he served as Principal until 1988. Brother Michel led Bishop Ford during the height of its popularity, topping at nearly 1800 students.  After leaving Ford, he served as Program Director for the Prayer Channel from 1988- 1994. In 1994, Brother Michel served as Principal of Cardinal Gibbons High School, in North Carolina. He is the editor of two anthologies: “Stories of God” and “Tales of God”.  

The Brother Michel Financial Aid program has been established through the generosity of Alumni and Friends of Bishop Ford to enable families to provide their children with a great Catholic education. 

Schedule for Applying for the Brother Michel Bettigole Financial Aid Program.

For Students entering High School in September 2012 applications are due on December 1, 2011.

For Students returning to Bishop Ford applications are due by March 15, 2012.

Families must apply online www.fairapp.com. There is a $27.00 application fee. 

*Note: For those families who have students currently attending Bishop Ford and the possibility of an incoming freshman beginning school in September 2012, they must apply for the December 1, 2011 deadline.

Students receiving financial aid are expected to volunteer their services for school activities.

Due to limited amount of funds not everyone who applies will receive financial aid.  The financial aid package is not for all four years.  Families must re-apply every school year.  Students must adhere to all school rules and procedures.
