THE NATIONAL
HONOR SOCIETY
Membership in
the National Honor Society is based upon scholarship,
leadership, character and service. Membership carries with
it more than an honor; it should be considered the
beginning of an obligation.
This highly
selective organization is sponsored by the National Association of
Secondary School Principals. Potential candidates must meet
rigorous requirements in the categories of character, scholarship,
leadership and service.
Academic
Excellence: Special recognition is given to those
students who achieve an overall average of 95% in their subjects
for the academic year.
First
Honors: Special recognition is given to those students
who achieve an overall average of 90% in their subjects for the
academic year.
Second
Honors: Students earning an overall average of 85% for
the academic year are also given special recognition.
In order to be considered
eligible, the student must meet the scholastic
requirements listed above, a letter of recommendation
from a Bishop Ford Faculty member,
must have completed both freshman and sophomore years,
must have been in Bishop Ford
Central Catholic High School for no less than one
full semester, and must have a satisfactory conduct
record.
